Originally, this dish was called chicken and dumpling casserole. But we never wanted to make it a dumpling casserole, so we decided to make the biscuits as a side–hence the new name. π But, whatever you call it, this is definitely one of the best make ahead dinners ever! It’s hearty, savory…the perfect kind of dinner for a cold blustery evening.

I tried your chicken and biscuit (dumpling) casserole the other night with a few modifications. I left the chicken in strips and made dumplings instead of biscuits. It was delicious! Thanks for the idea!
