Indoor Seedling Greenhouse Ideas

Hey everyone! It’s that time of year to start thinking about planting your indoor seeds! Tomatoes, strawberries, peppers–the list goes on–gotta get those little guys ready for spring. So today I thought you all might like to see our indoor greenhouse setup in order to gain some inspiration and ideas. Let’s get to it! πŸ˜€

Sorry about the sofa in the way…

Alright, so here’s our basic setup. My brother rigged up these two, 2 foot long shelving units out of pallet wood for us (thanks bro! πŸ˜‰ ). We needed them to be 4 feet long when we put them side by side in order to fit our shop lights, which are about that length. We set the shelves in front of a window in our basement to try and get a little natural light on our babies as well.

As you can see above, we used cup hooks screwed into the “ceiling” of the shelves to hang the lights from.

I will note here, shop lights will only provide enough light for seedlings. If you wish to actually grow mature plants and produce fruit indoors, you’ll want to invest in a grow light.

Here’s our cute little baby Alpine strawberries… You can see that we’re using seed cell trays for them, but there’s tons of other options for planters too!

You can use empty berry and lettuce containers…

Even toilet paper rolls in a pie pan will work! πŸ˜‰ We’re saving up plastic yogurt containers to use as well.

There you have it folks! That’s our little indoor seedling greenhouse. I hope this was helpful and inspiring to you!

Wishing you a happy garden season this year! πŸ™‚
