Gift boxes are super fun and simple to make, and you don’t need a lot of supplies or materials to make them. Even a cereal box will suffice as building material! Let’s make a mini one together! π

Materials:
- Cardboard (I used a cereal box)
- Tape (packing tape works great)
- A ruler
- A pencil
- Stuff to decorate your box (scrapbook paper, Mod Podge, glitter glue; anything glittery and fun)

Got your supplies? Let’s get started! π First, draw a 3 1/2 in. by 3 1/2 in. square on your cardboard, followed by 2 1/2 in. by 3 1/2 in. rectangles connected to each side of the original square. Unfortunately, my piece of cardboard wasn’t big enough to make two of the rectangles connect, so I just made them as separate pieces as you can hopefully see in the picture above.

Then, cut the piece (or pieces, in my case… π ) out!
Now fold the rectangles up so that the UN-printed side of the cereal box is on the outside.

And tape the edges together!

Now we’ll make a lid. Start by drawing another 3 1/2 in. by 3 1/2 in. square, but this time we’ll make 3/4 in. by 3 1/2 in. rectangles around it.
Cut it out and fold the edges up like you did with the box, and tape if desired. I just left my flaps open.

And there you have it–the perfect mini gift box! But wait…it looks kind of boring…let’s decorate it!

There, much better. I used this one to gift some super easy homemade soap that I made.
Hope you guys have fun with this! β€
Happy gifting! π

Very nice. I love that you are reusing cardboard too, very creative and smart. This comes in hand when we can’t find a box for our gifts.
