My hummus making adventure all started one day when we were going to make Greek chicken pitas…and discovered to our horror that we had forgotten to buy hummus! π¦ After about 5 minutes on the internet, we discovered it’s really not all that hard to make your own! Cook along with me today to find out how. π
The recipe I used is by Adam and Joanne from inspiredtaste.net! They really did a wonderful job. β€

I used Adam and Joanne’s homemade tahini recipe to make this, as we didn’t have any lying around. I didn’t even know what tahini was until I made hummus, LOL! Sometimes I wonder why people don’t just call it sesame seed butter.

I would go ahead and process it the full two minutes if I were you; I skimped on the time and it was kinda like chunky peanut butter. I didn’t mind it or anything–it was still amazing, but if you prefer a creamier texture, don’t be like me and skimp. π
Have you ever made hummus before? Let me know in the comments below!
Happy cooking! π

I love hummus! I’ve never tried to make my own, but I’ll definitely give it a try now.

This looks so yummy. My kids eat hummus all the time. My husband makes it. I always have to have baby carrots on hand for all the times we eat in this house, My husband also makes a flat bread to go with it, I forget what he calls it, but it’s all good.

Yep, can’t go wrong with hummus and flatbread! That’s nice your husband cooks; it seems like there’s not a lot of guys out there that do. π
